      Back in an R

Hey everyone! I've been a member here for quite awhile but stepped away from the R scene for a few years. I'm happy to say that I've picked up an Ti/Kap 05 SR with an M66 and the sport kit as a daily driver so I'm back. Which brings me to my first issue. When I bought the car I was told the sunroof wasn't non-functional. I had some time to play with it today and the motor itself definitely works. However, the mechanism itself binds up because some of the small plastic guides inside are broken and not routing things where they need to go throughout the cycle. Has anyone ever repaired the mechanism or will I need to source new/used pieces to just replace them?

Thanks. I was perusing through the Tasca site which has similar diagrams. It seems what I need is smaller components of pieces 5 and 6. Which appear to only be available as a complete assembly.

What happened to me are the guides for the sunshade bound up, which would force the sunshade to jam, and wouldn't let the glass go back. I just replaced the two sliding rail guides up front and everything is working perfect.

Yeah. I was able to yank the sunshade closed and pull a faulty guide out. I have actual pieces of the guide rail and gate that broke apart. It looks like I'll be sourcing replacements for both since the smaller pieces aren't available separately.

I just realized that was the Shifting Lanes S60R, I thought it looked familiar. Nice purchase.

They gave up on it already? I’ve only been keeping up with the VR and C30.

Yeah, he moved to doing new car reviews while the rest of the crew stayed with project cars as far as i can tell.

Welcome back! I re-took the plunge in December as well. We are relatively close by. I literally just left Chilled Man's house about an hour ago.

Congrats on the purchase. I thought this looked familiar. At least you have a few videos from shifting lanes on what they did. Enjoy the “R”ide.
