Just changed my 2.4 non turbo motor in my 2006 S40. Went relatively well, no codes, runs great. The only thing that is not quite right is shifting into 2nd, 4th, and reverse. Seems to be just barely getting into gear. Seemed like an easy enough reconnect, push the cable stays into their holder brackets and the sockets into the balls and shift, but I had trouble right away trying to shift into reverse to get the car off the ramps. Thought maybe I didn't purge all the air out of the clutch hydraulics, but shifting into 1st, 3rd and 5th shifts just like it should. Anybody got any suggestions? Getting ready to remove the battery box to get access to look at things, perfect time for to give your suggestions a try.
