No, no it doesn't. only the T8 is different because of the hybrid batteries, that's the only one with the straight edge up front. You're just mistaking the T6 with the T8 is all. T5 and T6 have identical interiors.

Here is my 2019 S60 T6 Inscription, as you can see, oblique just like your T5.

All of your parts should work hopefully. As you already discovered and ordered the armrest cover has to be changed because the front left edge interfaces with the new leather trim.

      Ok that is weird.
All the T6 twin engine cars here in the Netherlands have a straight armrest and a different compartment below the armrest.
You can not get a T6 or T8 with the same console like the T5.

      That’s why i chose the V90 parts.
Is this a country specific thing?

And yes the parts you showed i ordered from the dealer. Only the prices here are a LOT higher sadly.....

      Thanks for the info!
      Greetings Tom.

The key is "twin engine". The T6 is a single engine petrol in the US .

ohhhhhhh okay yeah country differences. Your country calls the hybrid the T6. In the USA the hybrid is only called the T8 while the T5 and T6 are petrol only

Sorry about that! Silly Volvo naming schemes. Turns out we were both correct for our respective countries :-P go figure

Don't know for sure yet, Symtom is trying it out first and if it all works then we'll know exactly what parts we need.

      Finally done ( well 99,9% )

Ok all parts are in, everything went 99% smoothly.

One detail, the frame from the V90 has a slight different shape as the S60 frame.
See picture. Here i had to cut a little piece of plastic away to fit the v90 frame better at this point.
The frame was too high at this point. Because the V90 frame goes againt the side here, en then a bit over the black gloss trim.
Instead of all over it like the S60 frame does.
The S60 frame is also a bit lower at this point then the V90 frame.

Therefore the leather trim piece was also a bit to high in relation to the arm rest. See picture.
I needed to cut into the high gloss black trim from the gear shifter. So the V90 frame could go a little bit lower and fitted nicely with the height of the arm rest.

Today i ordered the black gloss trim piece from a V90. Once in house ( probably tuesday ) i'll fit this one in and replace it.
Then it should fit perfect, without cutting. This V90 trim piece had a cutout what the S60 piece does not have. ( learning on the job )

I hope my explanation it is a little clear. The pictures hopefully speak for themselves.

But in general, i am very very happy with this mod. It gives the car that extra thing a was looking for.
And it fits perfect with the rest of the leather allready inside the car.
The arm rest replacement are just 4 x torx and you can swap the arm rest.

Final look with the leather trim and the new arm rest, AND the fixed height problem ! :

      The problem area:

      The height problem:

The small cut away part ( and for just the moment i put a little tape on it ) :

The side panels are not mounted yet, and the volume control panel is not clicked in yet. This will be done once a get the V90 trim piece.
I clould leave it as it is ( the black gloss trim piece ), you do not see anything. Exept when you open the arm rest you see the tape strip. But i want it 100% so i'll put in the V90 trim tuesday.

      The parts i used:

      Frame V90 31497044
      Leather trim V90 31699085
      Leather arm rest V90 39832570

All from an R Design T5 V90. The mod will fit all NON twin engine S60 and V60 cars, a far as i know.

      Total costs in the Netherlands:

475,89 euro ex the high gloss piece, thats approximately 70 euro extra.

Also put in the HEICO pedal set. With illuminated Heico logo:

The lighting connected to the footlighting.

      Greetings Tom.

The cost very much depends on what type of leather interior you have. Symtom it appears you have the Nappa leather which is on the R-Design, yeah? Interior code RB0R. And the pieces you ordered were ordered to match.

I have the normal charcoal leather interior RA00 that's on the inscription which seems to be a good bit cheaper.

Your part: 31699085 is $222.51 USD on Tasca
My part would be: 31699078 which is only $137.74, crazy how much more the R-Design interior pieces cost!

      your Armrest cover: $178.10
      Regular charcoal cover: $118.74

So with all the parts for a regular charcoal interior i'm at $330.70 USD. But that's without the black gloss trim piece which I *think* is part # 31497301 ? There are two part numbers for that part, one with wood trim and one with aluminum trim, which is odd as the part doesn't have anything but gloss black on it.

So if that trim is the right part that puts the total up to $405 + Shipping for a regular charcoal interior. Still expensive, but not the $600+ the R-design parts cost!

I think i'll pass for now on the upgrade, at 200-300 I could stomach it, but not at $400+

I agree that prices are very different.
In addition, it is not cheap anyway.
For me it is a hobby. And i like to try if i can get something like that to fit.
And you are right my car has the R design nappa leather. And that is unfortunately a lot more expensive.

All done now. Put the new trim piece from a V90 in place.

This was a LOT of work!
I had first had to take the whole center console unit apart.
Then i needed to lift the whole centerconsole unit.

Because the screws of the new trim piece are on the inside and up side down!!

I finally used a mirror ( in lifted mode ) to see the screws from the trim piece.
That way i could get them out.

Volvo claims to remove the whole center console out of the car. Then flip it and remove the screws.
      This was even more work.
So i did it like this. And it worked.
But i am NOT doing that again 😉

At the end i am very happy with the result.
Now it is 100% original. I just how i pictured it.

      End result:

      The center console unit lifted:

Don't worry about the wood “pole” there, there is no pressure on the unit where it stands on.

The console tunnel is self, is very light.
But i was alone and needed a extra pair of hands.... 🙂

      Greetings Tom.
