Just heard back from the dealership; estimated delivery date is mid-June to early-July. Hopefully there's no delays...

How'd you get the $1k PenFed discount? I'm a member as well and the PIN I got via their car-buying service isn't valid for T8 models

They might have changed this month's incentives; when I ordered it there wasn't that exclusion.

Is the PenFED discount combinable with the USAA discount?

In Canada, since I switched from the XC90 to V60 T8 polestar, I got a 2% rate reduction on financing so its down to 0.9% and I received $2K off sticker price. It wasn't a spectacular deal, but I had to order the car so I thought it was fair all around. They are happy and I was happy. I also did alright on my trade in, so the benefit on my taxes paid on my vehicle purchase.

I got £9700 off list for a v60pe from my local dealer here over the other side of the pond although that includes a £2000 finance contribution by using a reverse auction site to beat dealers down on price. But they’re not keen to take a tradein on a BMW as they’re an Indy only doing volvo and Jaguar so I’ll have to do something with my current car.

Speaking to my dealer I should be getting it about 1/2 way through next month (ordered in Nov) - there was a concern that the PE had been discontinued in the UK.

Hoping Covid19 doesn’t delay anything too much although obviously it’s more important that people don’t get ill. It’s starting to get pretty nasty in the media here.

Not surprised huh. I wonder what the take rate is for this particular part number, and who the target customer is.

As for the the customer are people that appreciate quality and craftsmanship. Same people that purchased the polestar car. Regardless of the size of the part it takes time, material, and tools to get it done. You can make the same comment about people that buy a Rolex watch and also show them eBay links for knock offs at 10$

"people that purchased the polestar car" presumably would get them for free with the car, wouldn't they? Somehow I doubt that a true car enthusiast buys a Polestar for the valve caps, or would throw a tantrum if Volvo used $5 gold colored ones. They. Are. Valve. Caps. Craftsmanship doesn't need to be garish or exorbitantly expensive. But sure, I see how someone who also owns a gold toilet (or maybe even his aspiring neighbor with a collection of "Supreme" socks) would want to buy a set of these for $400.

Crap, these valve stem caps are the only reason I ordered the Polestar! And now I find out I could buy them for the low low price of $267?!?!

      Time to cancel my order!

I love how the description says "Please note these are not made of actual Gold. " because you know you have to assume it.

How much worse can these actually be: https://www.ebay.com/i/201643301367?...BoCUAwQAvD_BwE

Maybe I'll put those on and save the gold ones for a rally or show...idk.

Are you sure? The ones from eBay will brick your Polestar! Terrible craftsmanship

They are not worse. Many Volvo accessories are stupidly overpriced for what they are ($70 headrest pillow comes to mind). I just bought a set of mud guards for my S60 for about $120 shipped - four tiny pieces of plastic, probably cost $2 to produce. Unfortunately, I could not find quality aftermarket ones, like the ones I bought for my three previous generation Volvo's over the years. Those fit, look and function exactly the same as brand name ones at 1/3 the cost.

On the other hand, some accessories are worth the money IMHO. Like cargo liner is vastly superior to everything I've seen aftermarket - don't know what material it is made of, but loose stuff on top of it just doesn't slide around in my trunk at all, very impressive.

Agreed. At some point you spent this much money on the car, do things right vs on the cheap. It will either cause you more problems later or look cheap. Get what you pay for a lot of the time.

I put mine on. If they get stolen, well... too bad... and then I’d replace them with a cheap set of gold colored caps. But I didn’t see a point of keeping them stored just because they might get stolen. They’re not worth anything to me at home, and they’re clearly overpriced. Not like I’m going to be able to sell them for what Volvo lists them or like I wouldn’t be able to sell the car because I don’t have them.

Since mine is a lease, wonder if Volvo is going to expect them ok the car at return.

Got mine two days ago. Pretty awesome. Dealer had mounted the yellow valve caps. Also got same rims on the winter wheels as agreed upon. Very happy with the car. Still need to learn and adjust everything. Only snag i have found is that the front polestar badge is loose

Nice! Still need to figure out what I'm going to do for my winter wheels. Thankfully I have all summer to procrastinate on that.

@joeyguns I ordered in December but got lucky: dealer had a build scheduled in grey due for April delivery that wasn't spoken for.
