That's awesome! Were you able to get any of the big cash allowances that Volvo is now offering? I believe it's currently $2000 loyalty cash, $2000 dealer cash, and $1000 affiliate cash.

I paid just over 62k before prepaid maintenance, additional warranty, etc. Maybe I could have negotiated further with the current state of the world, but it was a good deal back in December. And the dealer was generous with the 17 XC90 trade.

Wound up taking delivery on Friday, check emissions light lit up on saturday lol. Back to the dealer tomorrow to see what the code is.

      Beauty shot:

Got an update from the dealership. Looks like my expected delivery date was bumped back a month to late July due to the Torslanda closure. I wonder if at this point it'd be better to just hold out for a 2021 MY car to see if there are other colors that are made available, plus 1 less year of depreciation.

Picking mine up tomorrow. Was interested in the very attractive lease rate in April. Dealer tried to trade for one in Chicago and MN...wasn't happening. Found one at port and showed up at dealer yesterday.... USAA discount is a nice factor...5% of MSRP plus cash. Add that and the hybrid rebate, plus dealer incentives. Trading in my '19 Golf R....going to have to remember there is no clutch in the V60...

      Excited?

I picked up mine last Thursday, unfortunately I can’t really go anywhere with it but it’s waiting for us getting lockdown lifted in Brexit-land at least.

Really need to clean it though as I live on a building site

Still - my first Volvo for many years. SWMBO had a 2001 s40 1.8 many years ago and even longer before that I had a (old even then) 850t5.

Nice! Is that factory tint? Jealous that silly US regulations prevent that on wagons but are totally fine on SUVs. That's next on my list after finding winter wheels

      Thanks.
Yeah factory spec tints in the UK - surprisingly heavy for a factory delivery which SWMBO and I love as it looks good and it obscures anything left on the back seats.

Weirdly here the tints don’t even appear to be an option on the S60.

Winter wheels are another thing on my list but insurance companies are funny here about non-standard wheels (some even moan about winter tyres) and I was quoted £4500 for a 2nd set of polestars so I’ll probably take the risk of swapping the tyres off the rims.

Finally got a VIN and the car was loaded onto the boat on May 26th. I'm guessing it'll take about 2 months to get here on the west coast?

oops, missed your light question. it wound up being fixed by some update, more details here: https://forums.swedespeed.com/forumd.../topics/618443

once I had the VIN I think it took 3wks to get to the dealer on the east coast, beating his estimate by 2wks

ETA for it to arrive at the port in California is July 2 (the ship is currently right outside of the UK). Does anyone know how long it usually takes for these things to clear customs?

Mine took a week to clear (though considering some of the Covid craziness the car actually left the ship at the Port of Tacoma vs. Port Hueneme, as originally intended). For reference, I'm in San Jose, CA. Obligatory pic:

That's interesting. My salesman mentioned something about Port Hueneme for my car but it's still scheduled for Tacoma, which would be nice because it's only a mile or so to the dealership.

Mine (OSD which did not happened ) was shipped from Torslanda on 4/23, arrived to Baltimore on 5/12, and reached dealership (Charlotte, NC ) on 6/3. There was a slowdown in port and transport from the port to dealership.

Some folks with cars on same vessel ( Carmen ) got their cars earlier - but they were much closer to port.

Finally brought it home! Absolutely worth the 6 month wait. The massive incentives I got on this (12.5K off sticker and that's before the federal tax credits) is just icing on the cake.

Making a date tomorrow with the tint shop. Looking to put on Llumar Air 80 on the front windshield, Llumar CTX 18% on the back and rear sides, and 35% on the front sides. I have the same setup on my other cars and it's my go-to.

      Initial impression:
Holy **** this thing hauls ass. It may actually pull harder in 2nd gear than my E85 tuned STI that put down 434 lb-ft of torque at the wheels.

When driving normally, the handoff between the ICE and electric motor is quite smooth. Volvo did a great job making this thing comfortable and livable. The transmission, while kind of "soft" (it'll never be confused for a ZF8), is very very smooth. I wouldn't expect anything less from an Aisin 8-speed that is also used by Lexus.

All that said, at WOT the power delivery is quite non-linear. Starting from a dead stop, the car actually takes off with bit of oomph thanks to the electric motor, and when the ICE kicks in there's a small surge of power, and then when the turbos spool up and the supercharger clutches out there's another wave of power. Then, when it goes into second gear, it pulls even harder (methinks these speeds is where the electric motor is actually making the most torque). In second I can absolutely believe the almost 500 ft-lb of torque that's advertised...in first it feels more like 400 if even that. In third the torque tapers off some more (again, I think because the electric motor is starting to make less power at those speeds), though it still pulls well.

It's definitely an interesting feeling. It's not a bad feeling, but I can see how some people might be thrown off or annoyed by it if they're expecting a more linear power delivery. Seeing as how my last "fast" car was the epitome of non-linear power delivery, maybe I'm just more used to it.

      Congrats.

WRT the suspension do you know what your dealer tuned it to?

Mine had set it to comfort. I set it to the Sport recommendation and it was a lot better - still to try the “polestar recommendation “

I think it’s in the manual but my dealer had printed out the details. If you’re struggling I can dig it out.
