      Autobox replaced with M47

Hej people, Anybody out there who have already swapped out a slushbox trans for the M47?
Successfully a complete engine rebuild, led to changing tired old Automatic. Currently, we have 2, 5 Spd wagons, plus a 245 with a autobox still.
The snag in the rebuilt is the Back Up light switch in the M47: it works, but I have difficulty keeping any hair on head after several days of trying to wire into existing circuitry.
Once somebody responds with wisdom, I will post a pic from left side of centre console showing a couple of connectors. Maybe savvy people are rolling their eyes, "sheesh, this has been asked a dozen times already"?
Volvo says Yellow-blue wire feeds fuse from ignition, then to connector, then to trans switch, then out to rear back up lights. Engage reverse, switch closes and power enters circuit to lights. Simple, right? Help please. What am I not seeing?
