      Cool 99 S70 Turbo Engine Swap Adventure

      Hi Guys and Gals. I've got a 99 S70 Turbo AWD which I've taken the head off of and had it rebuilt and shaved with vvis on the exhaust and the rest I pulled from the car because of several cracks in the sleeves. I also have a 95 2.3L Turbo engine from a wagon that has good compression - all in the 190-195 psi range with 162,000 miles. I've already swapped the oil pans, intake and exhaust mans plus the turbo. My question is b-4 I start installing it, I thought I should get some of your expert advice. So, is this doable and thank you all for any advice you share.

      What exhaust manifold did you put on it?

      I dont see a reason that it wouldnt work. Need to keep all the ME7 parts on the head and accessories.

      You will need to use the front lower motor mount bracket from the 95, fuel system components from the 99.

      Thanks so much for your reply ScottishBrick. I've been struggling with the fact that these engines are really packed into these engine bays and my size doesn't help at 6 foot eleven with unusually gigantic hands. I keep telling myself patience and that helps, but I think your words of encouragement has sparked a new jolt of energy in me. thanks again, I will post up some pics after I hear it run out of limp mode, JJSS70.

      I'm sorry, ScottishBrick. I forgot to answer your ex. man. question. I have the 99 ex. and int. mans. in it with the 88 turbo which will stay. I just have to put it all back on the 99 cyl. head and then the brain will see the cvvt and hopefully end up in open loop. Still curious about TB tensioner though. I guess I'm going to find out.       Gonna need to use the N style earlier tensioner
