Easy ways to tell which C30 I'm looking at?

      Hi,
Just feeding my addiction to used volvo's and browsing local kijiji adds for cars that might make for a fun project. Came across a 2008 C30 for $2000 cad (manual tx). I'm new to the C30 game and was trying to figure out how many versions would have been put on the NA market for 2008 and what easy things to look out for in pics to determine which version of the C30 I'm looking at. Can anyone indulge me?

here's a link to the ad that has peeked my interest. Pics suggest that it's pretty basic as far as trim/add-ons...

the R design will always have the body kit over the wheels and fenders
other than that, US model cars are pretty much the same engine-wise

in 2009, the front bumper was changed to a newer design

however, in Canada and europe models were offered with other engine options
you don't want any of those
all you really need to know is it an R design? then, good.

*2011 was the facelift for North America. 2010 was the facelift for Europe.

As mentioned, avoid the 2.4i. It's slow and gets worse fuel economy than the T5.

      It's also a 2.4i. So don't bother.
