Filled up 3/4 of a tank. The check engine light came on on the way home but car was running fine. The next morning it would start, running for a second then shut off. Had it flatbedded to the dealer. Found out tank was full of water/ethanol. Apparently when enough water mixes with e10 gas the ethenol separates from the gas. (See the pictures.). Est to fix about $3,600. They are changing injectors, and fuel pump. They said they have never seen this much water in a tank before. I wasn't sure it needed all that but they told me if the injectors weren't replaced and failed down the road it wouldn't be covered because of the bad gas. Insurance is covering it and going after the station.
Has anyone had this happen in a newer MY and what did they fix/replace?
