Suspension / Wheel Set ups - Let's see yours

Somewhat selfishly I wanted to start a thread requesting pictures of anyone with an R-Design on H&R springs with stock struts as that is what I am looking to pick up at some point, so am hoping to see how much lower it looks vs stock. I used to have a lowered Audi A4 Avant on coilovers, absolutely loved how it looked (still do), but don't want to have to drive around with that constant fear of scraping on road kill, speed bumps, steep driveways etc. However, thinking about it I figured it might make sense to have a thread where owners can instead post the set up they are running, something like:

      Wheels - Stock 18"
      Tire Size - 235/45/18
      Spacers - None
      Suspension - Stock R-Design
Ride Height - 26.75" front, 27.25" rear, both fender to ground measurements.
      Any rubbing? - Nope.

Along with a side profile picture to show how the suspension looks on the car. The goal being that we can compile a single thread of various wheel / suspension options.

So, selfishly, does anyone have H&R springs and can they post a picture? I've read that they lower the R-Design by around half an inch, which would be about perfect for me. Shrinks the wheel gap a little, but still retains my sanity.

      Thanks.

Thank you, that looks great. Eventually I may also pick up 19's, so good to know they don't rub with the H&R's

This thread is a good idea. I would post mine but it's completely stock at the moment. Would love to see some different wheel combos on a power metallic blue body. I don't exactly love the black painted/diamond cut look of my stock setup.

God, that’s hot. Lots of little aesthetic tweaks that all come together to look factory to the untrained eye yet substantially different and more sporty than a conventional S60, using carefully selected parts bin pieces. A perfect example of “OEM+”. What are you driving these days? I hope you’ve applied this same level of taste and artistry to your new blank canvas!

Well, that convinces me, not only are H&R springs likely in the future, but also 19" wheels. Looks great @MidnightSnooze and @TheodorKalin

Thanks. Loved that car and it was in perfect condition.
Bought a newer V40 D4 R-Design and kept the wheels. Made some changes like you mentioned. Eibach springs And spacers, customized grill, paddle shifters, sound deaded all doors. Have some future plans as well
Love the V40 but there was something special about the s60.. :/

2015.5 with the sport chassis, 10mm spacers up front and 15mm spacers in the rear. The spacers really make a difference to me with the stock sport springs and 19" wheels.

Looks great, spacers definitely make a difference with these cars, need to pick up some myself. And, hello from a fellow Virginian. Post a pic of the Caprice wagon and the El-Camino please, both cool cars.

      Suspension - R-Design struts with H&R

Ride Height - Lowered Front .60" / Rear .50" *Only if you have R-design struts. The RD struts allow the R cars to sit lower from factory than the normal T5/T6 variants.

The El Camino has seats out of a 1998 V70, so it's okay to post here.

That's awesome looking. Seems the perfect vehicle for loading bikes on the back as well.

Thanks, it's a fun car. I'm actually about to install fuel injection and start using it a lot more. Once that is complete I can get the Caprice wagon running better. It's going to be low and loud, though not much go.

      Crappy iPhone photos.

      KW coilovers
18x8 44 offset Waltz Forged wheels
      Vredestein Vorti tires (245/40/18)

No rubbing while driving even when loaded up. Slight rub at certain angles going up steep driveways, but it’s barely touching the fender liner when it does.

DSX. I bought them from a member here who got them on Ebay, I assume. They came with extended lugs and covers. They seem to be fine quality and fit the hub correctly.

      great, thanks for the reply.

definitely have to look into spacers as a start. the offset on these cars is terrible!

I just installed DSX spacers on mine at the weekend, as Seaway said, they fit the hub correctly and included extended lugs for both front and rear was about $140. In my case, the rear 15mm seems to be rubbing ever so slightly on the fender liner, not sure if my rear shocks are nearing the end of life causing the rubbing or something else. But, the wheels look a whole lot better with the spacers installed.

Any rubbing? - Annoyingly, yes, on the very outside of the rear tires, trying to figure out the cause.

Yep, measured them this morning when I took it in to get a screw taken out of one of the tires.... 15mm.

There is no "cause." It is what it is. I have 15 mm H&R spacers on my stock T6 suspension with 235/45R18s as well. The fenders slightly rub the tire sidewall, even with my extra 0.6" of fender clearance.

Maybe so, but since you are now the only other person who I have read has any rubbing with 15mm, we are outside of the norm. I will also say, the rubbing is minimal, so maybe it is truly nothing to worry about, but at the same time I would prefer it not to rub at all, no matter how minimally.

In my 2.5 years on this forum, nearly everyone on T6/R-Design rear shocks and springs and with 235/45's have reported rubbing with 15 mm spacers.

Here's one thread where several of us have reported rubbing. Those who say they don't are probably not in areas where there are a lot of potholes or undulations in their daily commute. Low velocity bouncing around in the city is where I think I'm getting the most contact between the liner and the tire. https://forums.swedespeed.com/showth...acers-Question
