What's up with the cost of used OEM spoilers?

      Just venting...
Have been on the lookout for a rear spoiler for my Ocean Blue XC. A new one, unpainted, will run you $200 from tasca and yet ebay and many of the bits on car-part.com are going for $150-ish. Bloody hell! I love my Ocean Blue but the downside is that there's not much out there that will match so I'm stuck repainting...almost makes sense to get one new which is a bit of a joke.

I guess I'll bide my time and wait for the right deal to pop up.

Make sure it has the third brake light and black out for the one on the window.

Only reason why I don't have one is because of long roof loads. The wang can't handle long loads.

Thanks, A - have been on the look-out for that for sure!
They sit pretty flat vs. the roof - are you sure they would take part of load? They also seem to be a hair lower than roof line in fact...

They are drilled on to the hatch, trying to open the hatch with a overhanging load would be impossible.

Imho the non brake light bet soon is better looking. And I have an oem on on my car. The bulge is weird.

      Vs

I know the pic isn’t great but that ORXC is 1699 miles away from me at the moment so it’s the best I can do right now

Gotta pay to play I guess. I'm in the same boat.

SB does the non brake light one keep the internal brake light fully visible?

Yup. Can see the light perfectly. That’s part of why I like it a lot better.

I second what Antherzol is saying. When I had a roof box on mine it lightly rubbed the wing when rear hatch was opened. Rear top brake light on the wing connects through the hatch to the door light receptacle...

You should try to buy a mounting kit if they're still available from Volvo, makes life a lot easier.

I dunno. It’s $57 for a template that doesn’t even match the OEM spoiler. I have the template setup if anyone really needs it.

You don't even need a template. There are targets engraved in the lid showing where to drill.
