      Crank specs for B18

I was giving the machine shop the specs for the engine, that I have in a downloaded copy of the engine specs book, but what I couldn't find for him was the crank surface diameter for the connecting rods journals. The Main Bearing journals were there, but not the Rod Bearing Journals.

Anyone have a spec or a source ?

Close. I think those would be the specs for the connecting rod end, but I was looking for the specs for where that clamps on the crank. The machinist is checking out the parts I gave him and needs to make sure the crank is still within spec for stock bearings.

Where did you get that chart, by the way ? My manual has that listed as "Big End Bearings " and under that " Big end journals " .

That's from an original Volvo service manual dated 4-63.

I have specs from Glenn's, Chilton's and Haynes' manuals that may help. I'm running out the door now. I will post scans later today.

Ok here are all the crankshaft specs I have:

      From a Glenn's Repair and Tune-up Guide 444-544-122-188 (Dec. 1967)

      From Chilton's Volvo 1956 to 1969 (1971)

      From Haynes 120 & 130 plus P1800 (1976)

      Perfect !

Didn't know there WAS a B18A. I only knew about the B and D versions. Looks like even some of the Haynes books didn't list it.

They’re all listed in the link I posted for you in your previous thread, “One Engine and so many cams”...

I didn't read that chart clearly, as the web formatting was a bit of a mess. I cleaned it up and posted it in the other thread.

All of the older Volvo green books refer to the rod bearing ends as "Big end bearings." The crank bearings are the "Mains."
