      Infotainment freezes and restarts

      Starting yesterday afternoon my infotainment has begun to briefly freeze and then reboot. Yesterday, the process took a minute or two - the screen would freeze, a minute later turn off and then a minute or so later turn back on and resume working for a 3 minutes or so and then repeat the process. This morning it would not freeze, but would simply fade out and then restart in about 30 seconds.

      Anyone have an idea where I should start looking for answers? Is there a reboot process? Any help would be great!

      My mom literally just called me this morning because she is having the same issue on her 2016 XC60. Definitely need info if anyone has insight!

      So this began happening to me yesterday as well! 2017 S60 - I wonder if something is going on on a large scale with the connectivity of the car since our problems began happening around the same time. I happen to be headed to the dealer for a free wash so I'll bring it up with them and see what they say tomorrow afternoon.

      Weird. Mine was markedly better this morning than yesterday in terms of the time it took to reboot. I didn't test any screens other than the radio. Yesterday Bluetooth seemed to be impacted as well but this morning it seemed to be okay?

      Now the app is making me sign back in which it has never done before. Actually it wants me to repair the On Call account with the car

      Unhappy entertainment system reboot

      My 2016 V60 started doing this yesterday. I also noticed the radio stops for a few seconds, then while the screen is black w/ the round Volvo logo on it the radio comes back before the navigation screen comes back. I also noticed the seat heaters were not controllable--could not turn off or on for several seconds. When the reboot fully finished (how do you tell this?), control resumes.

      I just called the 800 customer service line. They have no idea this problem is going on. It appears to be affecting a lot of cars. I suggest every one call 800-458-1552 and report your problem. They have NO technical help but they record the problem along w/ your VIN. Maybe we can get this elevated to the engineers (in China??) to find a fix.

      Just got off of a chat with someone at Volvo. They said there was a system disturbance yesterday that continues into today. Sounds like they are working on it and have no specific timeline.

      This is also happening to my V60 and my wifes XC60 as of about noon yesterday est. Every 3-4 minutes the info screen goes blank and restarts. Volvo customer service has no info on this they are sharing.

      Same problem with my 2015.5 V60CC starting Tuesday evening (10 Mar 2020). Infosystem would start to freeze up - couldn't change music stations, change display from Nav to Radio, etc, then it shut down and rebooted on it's own. This repeated every few minutes driving home from evening meal at restaurant. Earlier in the day my VOC app also needed to resign in (asked for region, password, etc) when I tried sending destination to car, got message "couldn't contact my Volvo" but when I got in car the destination was in the Nav system. We didn't drive our 2014 S60 yesterday so can't comment on it.

      Wow. I'm so glad to read this!
      I had some work done at the dealer yesterday and once I picked up the car around 1:30PM ET my sensus was rebooting every 3-5 minutes.
      Yesterday afternoon (after 6pm) it was working fine but today in the morning it restarted again three times.

      Let's see how it goes today.

      Called my dealership and they said it was a system-wide issue with the on call app. They said Volvo was working on it, but didn't have a timeline. My system has rebooted at least half a dozen times since yesterday afternoon.

      I'm a +1 on this as well. '16 V60 CC

      I did a map update thru the USB stick last Fri...and thought surely it was related. (kind of) Glad to read otherwise.

      The real cute part of the malfunction is when it is frozen and your back-up camera / park / and proximity alerts do not function. Beware!

      They are aware of it, no fix yet. As of now, if we have a customer with this problem on a P3, we have to contact Tech Help Desk and provide the VIN. Seems they are trying to figure out which ones are having issues.

      I sent an email to Volvo Customer help and this is their response:

      "Thank you for contacting Volvo and informing us of the disturbance you are experiencing in you S60. We have noticed a disturbance affecting many Volvo customers and are currently documenting and collecting data so that our technical team can develop a resolution. I have documented that your S60 VIN: [VIN redacted] is experiencing the disturbance and we hope to have this resolved soon. We apologize for the inconvenience."

      I recommend everyone to contact them!

      Mine rebooted 3 times in 15 minutes of driving this morning, but it appears to be working fine now. I noticed that after the first reboot I couldn't change radio stations or select Navigation mode on the screen. I didn't drive the car Monday or Tuesday so I can't help with any data there.

      Mine started yesterday 3/10/2020 and continues today on the 2017 S60. Every 5 minutes. Called dealer service and they said they have never heard of this. Sounds like its a thing.
      Recommended action was to bring in for a software download. If anyone comes up with a different solution that would be great. No time to take car in for a couple of weeks.
      Reported to customer service via the On Call app.

      Add our '16 XC70 to the list. We had 5-6 reboots and loss of functions as described by ei69jeff and AeroDan, all in a 30-40 minute drive across town late yesterday morning (Pacific time).

      In hindsight, our last few attempts at remote start over the last couple of weeks were unsuccessful. Contacted Cust. Service with our VIN.

      The first time this happened my side mirrors would not unfold. Had to get out of car, lock and then unlock again to get them to unfold. Sesus reboot happened 3 times this AM. (3/11)

      volvo just sent notice to all dealers they are aware and working on a fix. instructed dealers to not replace parts of perform software update, just submit tie case with effected VIN numbers. i work at a small dealer and have 17 reported effected cars in the last 3 days. annoying ive already ordered replacement IAM for two of them before this notice showed up

      Mine seems to be working again. Just drove for 45 minutes with no issues and then received this email:

      Good Afternoon Matthew,

      Thank you for contacting Volvo!

      This concern has been corrected. Please, let us know if you are still experiencing the radio shutting off intermittently as well as being unable to connect to the Volvo On Call app.

      The notice has been updated that they believe the issue was related to a Sirius radio broadcast and has been resolved.
