Well, if we get put into lockdown here in Seattle, thereís not much actual work I can do from home. But, I can make sure I have supplies here and work on some fiberglass projects. Just have to be in my outside workshop.

I wonder if I could make the same kind of fixture using my current, non dual exhaust on my 1999 V70R. I like the BBK Varitunes that I put on my Mach 1 so much that I would probably go with them on this sort of project as well.

Certainly. The only difference is that the -99 awd exhaust has no drivers side outlet at all. However if you peel the end cap off the DS muffler you'll see strait into the baffle arrangement and could, if you wanted, put a tip on with a boost or electrically actuated cutout.

I have noticed that and I have thought very strongly about it. I would prefer to have something that has a slight bit of a tone but has some bark at boost. There is one that cuts the drone via a flap on a spring in the muffler. I do really like the look of the dual exhaust since it does have the exit ports in the bumper for dual exhaust.

Never been a fan of this newer trend of grayscale colors, but this does look very sharp. Nice work!

Grey works well in the PNW, it matches the weather most of the time. That wrap looks great and the lime green is a really nice change of pace from the usual caliper paint colors.

I just don't get the black wheel trend. Black for contrast against polished or machined features, sure. Maybe even black steelies with trim rings or some pinstripes to set it off. Dark grey is fine. But murdered out alloy wheels just don't do anything for me. If as-cast Torq Thrusts and Dow-7 coated Halibrands were good enough for grandpa, they should be good enough for us, by golly!

Make that +2 and possibly +3. I've got 2 x '98 Saffron V70Rs that need new exhaust and my buddy has a '98 black V70R that may need one too.

I sold my P2 XC70 to a good friend down in California that needed a new daily.
Hmm, wonder if that's the same car I had in last week. Seems to recognize that grey color (wrapped)?

Probably. Spencer said he was having some fuel issues. Itís a much darker grey than this car though.

I also am not a fan of black wheels (typically). In this case, the overall package is a ďlookĒ I wanted and the colorway is loosely based on my business logo. I REALLY donít like satin black wheels. They get lost in the tires. Gloss is better in my opinion, and the good news is that since Iím the painter, I can change the color later should I decide I hate it.

I really like my dark grey wrapped P2, but this time I wanted something ghat was close to the OE silver, but was NOT the silver that gets used on ery-ting.

Looks amazing!!! Can you shed more info the the bbks? What needs to be done to make it work? Will the R calipers fit in the front and rear?? I always wanted to do the bbks on my car.

Makes sense. If only you could find some wheels with more of the "atomic" look, that would be perfect.
+1 on the satin black _blah_. I thought half the point of bigger wheels was to show them off, not blend them into the sidewalls.
And yet, if the whole car is satin black, I'm OK with matching wheels. Kinda like how I don't like black frames on a custom motorcycle, and I don't like the monochrome look, but if everything is blacked out, it works.

The fronts are CJ Yotherís Porsche Big Red adapter brackets (which donít seem to be listed anymore). After searching forever though, I couldnít find Big Reds for a decent price, so I bought what I thought were Big Blacks (supposedly similar). Upon test fitting them, they were 1/2Ē off the adapter when crashing into the rotor.

So I just machined some half inch spacers and they fit fine.

The rears were actually even easier. I just had a buddy machine .1875Ē off the mounting ears and everything bolted straight on. The ear spacing is just right.

I saw a write up that said to machine .2Ē off, but what I did was center an R rear caliper on a P2R rear rotor (typically I put pads in the caliper and blow a little air into the caliper to clamp it to the rotor, then verify the split in the caliper is centered on the rotor), measure the distance from the caliper mounting ears to the inner mounting face of the rotor and note. Then I use a straight edge and measure the distance from the wheel hub flange face to the caliper mounting location on the knuckle and subtract to find the difference to machine. To verify my measurements real quick, I made a 3/16Ē wheel spacer (basically) and put it behind the rotor and bolted everything up. If youíre going to do this, you should probably measure your own car though.

Currently Iím using regular P2R braided brake lines front and rear, but the way the line comes out of the front caliper make them stretch a hair more than Iíd like at full lock, so Iím looking into that.

Sounds complicated lol. Would the R calipers fit in the front? Also would it clear a 17 inch R oem wheels? Thanks

      LOL.

Iíve seen custom adapters machined to use R fronts, but required cutting off the steering stops. Arguably more difficult.

17" Sats would be the OE option here which would not fit.

The P2R calipers only work in the rear of these cars and you need to either make brackets or purchase them from someone. Front calipers do not work to my knowledge or at least brackets aren't readily available.

My bet is that he made his own brackets for these front calipers with the talent he's already exhibited.

It's been done. Seen it in person. Would not do myself. Some of the things people have done to make it work are downright scary.

      They're on the second page.

Definitely one of the cleaner installs I've seen, but still no steering stops.

Pulled the cover off after a nice winter slumber and it fired right up. Nice to have a car with no battery drain.

Does have a leaky tire though.

Finished the body work on the front bumper. Canít wait to finish the wrap and start driving the VR again.

Shaved the wiper pockets, the plate holes and fixed the corner.
