      check engine

2018 S90T5. Came on Monday after a few days of non-use. I haven't used it as I had another car.
Is there a way to and should I attempt to clear it and try to start again?
      Or just call the dealer?

Call the dealer. If it's yellow it probably is safe to drive, but not if it is red.

Have Volvo tow it to dealer. It's free. I wouldn't bother driving the vehicle there.

I thought that 99% of the time the check engine light was for the emission control system, not a serious mechanical issue. Often times--at least with cars with a gas cap--the problem is a loose cap. I got it once, after the dealer changed a cracked oil pan. Turned out to be a loose connector for the oxygen sensor.

Startup misfire will illuminate the yellow check engine light as well. I had it on my 2018 S90 T6 after the dealer replaced the spark plugs. Long story short, defective spark plug + weak coil + bad injector were the causes of the issue... The car was driving fine and no surge or reduced performance observed.
