Fantastic work Daren. It still blows my mind how much you’ve changed out on your wagon. Do you still have the shattered rod from the old engine?

Here’s mine from May 2017 when I flew to pick it up in Denver and cannonballed through 2,000 miles home to upstate NY in 2 1/2 days.

Fast forward through getting hit in the drivers side rear quarter, a complete repaint, two engine swaps, a M66 swap, coilovers, front BBK, some STI wheels and here’s the end result:

      1999 V70 R -- gone, but not forgotten.
      2000 V70 R -- 04 B5234T9 w/ 18T, Stevo tune, M66, CX Racing coilovers, 996TT front BBK. Always working on something...

Alright. I'll bite. I've covered this in other threads, but why the hell not...

Mine is a little bit more basic than yours, but I still love it,

2000 base model V70. I intentionally chose th ebase model to not have any trouble. I didn't want a turbo or all wheel drive on a car this old.

Here it is with its stock Antila's when I bought it.

      old_antila_sml.jpg

Here it is today with my new 16" Columbas!

The old rims have been repurposed for winter tire duty,

      Thanks Andy!
I honestly don't remember if I kept the shattered rod or not. If so, it's probably hidden in some random corner of the garage.
The cracked block was taken out to pasture years ago.

There hasn't been enough time for me to get much of anything done with mine yet besides just getting it from Portland to Montana reliably.

You’re welcome! It would be pretty cool to mount that rod in a shadow box for some garage art.

Thanks!! The new color is still the factory Venetian Red Metallic, but without all the fading, rock chips, and flaking clear coat. Warmer lighting and a better camera help the “after” look a bit more vibrant.

I made my own kit using 4 piston monoblock Brembo calipers from a 996 Porsche 911 Turbo and P2 R rotors. Not too different that the setup most people use, just a different caliper.

For someone who had never done anything like it before, it wasn’t the easiest thing ever, but the concept is simple enough. It’s basically just a 3/8” steel angle with 4 M12 holes in in to allow the Porsche caliper to bolt up to the stock knuckle. The complicated part is where the Porsche caliper bolts need to be in relation to the Volvo knuckle and ensuring proper thread depth engagement for all the bolts.
