      an STi cop car

STi must have been an off duty peace officer doing secuirty work or something.... There is no way they are using that for a squad car....

Notice they went with Whelen light bars, sirens, etc.... Good choice brothers

I saw it on the side of the road, it was painted with the same way all of the other police cars were painted. It was a light blue and white. I can't remember if it had lights on the roof or not, but it clearly had the Cashiers police dept. decals.

It was a new 06 not like this but they are out there... http://www.collectablediecast.....html

Re: Texas State Trooper Vehicles.... (Copeland)

YUPPER! 2006 RWD DODGE CHARGERS! with 5.7L HEMI power! Might be with the cyl deactivation too but not sure. CHEVY gave them(police fleets in general) the FWD IMPALA SS with the 4.3L V8 and cyl deactivation for FUEL MPG. But DODGE did them one better and got them back into RWD CRUISERS where they wanted to be. Now that the CROWN VIC is on way out of production. DODGE did a good job with the non pursuit INTREPID Cruisers when Chevy had the plain 3.8L V6 Impala packages they were hawking. When DODGE saw that the CHARGERS and the HEMI were working out nice in the main stream they went and did the POLICE PACKAGE and now we got some real cruisers again to contend with out there. ONES that like the other poster said might hang with you in the twistys AGIN!

GM will never learn it seems. Could have had the market if they only did a few things to keep it. GM once again crashed and burned on what we wanted in the showrooms. AKA the GTO would have been a nice basis. The Monaco/Diplomats/Gran Furys of the 70's and 80's are coming back to spank GM in the form of the CHARGER HEMI now again.

Discontinue the RWD passenger car platform in 1996. Talk about an idiotic move...

NONE are SRT-8's but many, especially the Highway Patrol cars will be hemi's.
Big city cars probably will be 6's

The Ottawa police now use Chargers for patrol cars. The black ones are the V6, the white ones the V8. they also use the new V8 Impalas, the standard Crown Vic. previous model Mercedes ML and Volvo S70 T5's for the Ontario highway patrol cars.

That's a pretty powerful car to be in the hands of cops. They'll be able to keep up with a lot more people.

But us Volvo drivers are still out of reach. Right?

Yes and you will also see alot more as the fleets age around DC and thru the US at Field Offices. MANY goverment agencies now are going over to the DODGE CHARGER as standard issue. SOME might even get to BE the SRT-8, so watch out. The next plain looking Charger you see in your mirror might jsut be CIA/NCIS/FBI/DOD/NSA/SS and ect.

stock 850 block with a TD04HL-16T running 19-20psi...full 2.5" turbo-back with 3" Random Technology cat...resonator delete for extra noise...Samco IC hoses, all silicon vacuum lines, TurboXS H-RFL BOV on custom IC pipe, Custom Open Element Semi-CAI....running bigger injectors (CC unknown), I was told the head is port and polished and that it has the GLT cams, MSD SS Blaster Coil with 8mm wires...pretty much everything in the suspension isn't stock, Koni Sport shocks, H&R springs, QBM Sway Bar Links, QBM Control Arms and Derlin Bushings, IPD front and rear (broken) sway bars...I put out ~240whp on 17psi with massive boost leaks...that was before doing all the Samco and vacuum line work...should be right around 270whp right now but I need to goto the dyno again...haven't been to the track in a few months, best time I ran was a 14.1 @ 101.6...best trap was 102.6 (@ 14.3 or something)...car should be good for 13s if I can get some traction...all my 60 foots are >2.3

Here in Charlotte area we have a Cadillac CTS-V Black/grey fully painted and with lights, taken from a drug dealer.

Also A 5.0 Mustang Black with 17" chrome rims and a built engine claimed to put out 500 rear wheel HP.Unmarked with limo tint, although a early 90's car it looks showroom new! Saw it pull a speeder in town, what a shock! all the blue lights were extremely well hidden until turned on. Bet many a racer got sucked into a ticket by this car. Think it was taken from a repeated DWI offender.

Of course we know the German Police use 911's and Italy's have a Gallardo.

Allright...cut me a little slack Just cause I live in "Redneckville" doesn't mean I am one Although I will say that "redneck hockey" sure is fun to watch...It got us a Stanley Cup Git R Done "that" Copeland!!!!
Now if we can bring a "redneck Lombardi" trophy to NC...that woud be the ultimate "Git R Done"!!

The point was that state troppers are branching out into more sophisticated performance cruisers. And what better place to test out those police rocketships than on the highways and biways the old moonshiners used to drive The Git R Done was more to honor LTCG and his potrayal of the south. I think it is funny...and living here makes it even funnier...cuase there are a few of the folks Larry is describing STILL HERE One of 'em even works here!

      Those are pretty cop cars

We run the fast cop cars out here in California due to all the high speed pursuits. CHP runs the sup up Mustangs, Z28 Camaro's and a few Corvettes out on the route to Vegas.

My favorite is the White Camaro's. I actually cut one of these off on my way to work. Didn't realize why everyone was going so slow until I saw the pretty LED's.
They can reach 160 mph in seconds. Super fast.

2006 S60R, Electric Silver, 19' V7's, full factory options, fully modded, rebuilt Stage 3 engine w/ uprgaded turbo and Black Flagged from Volvo. Thank goodness for the onboard LIDAR jammer.
