      Brake pedal feel

Hi all, I have a question about brake feel on 2018+ XC60's. I got a loaner (2020 - XC60 T5 Momentum w/1500 mi) for some service the other day and noticed the markedly better brake feel in the loaner as I drove home. The T5 brake pedal felt crisp and braking was immediate when I got onto the pedal. This is compared to my R-Design T6 where the pedal feel is far more spongy. This is even after getting 4 new rotors all around (not new pads) it feels like my pedal is far less responsive and my braking is worse. Testing done in Dynamic.

What's your take? Is this common? brake flush may help?

Bit of a backstory if you want--
I had my 2018 XC60 T6 in for my 30k service, juddering under highway braking, and SENSUS reboot mid drive.

      • 30k service done under warranty.
      • The tech found the rear rotors out of spec - 0.079mm and 0.080mm. Swapped the rear rotors but the judder issue persisted. Front rotors also found out of spec -- 0.045mm and 0.049mm. Swapped the front rotors and issue was resolved. This was also covered under warranty which is what I expected after finding the TSB on this.
      • SENSUS got a total software upgrade per TSB

Bleed the brakes to ensure there's no air in them. Also, you should replace brake fluid every 3 years, anyway, so depending on when your XC60 was manufactured it's possible the fluid has absorbed water and needs to be replaced, anyway.

I am having the same issues with my 2019 XC60 T6. Although i only have 4k miles on mine. OP is see that you are in NJ which dealership did you get your car from? i got mine from Kundert Volvo. I plan to contact them soon to get this issue looked at. Let me know what your dealership tells you. Spongy brakes are no bueno

I got it in Pittsburg (Ken Pollock) but I get it serviced at Kundert as I live here. At 4k you are much closer in mileage to the loaner I drove, so that's ... concerning. I'll post back with any updates. Please do the same.
