      Convert P3 V60 to V60CC

      Hey guys!

I recently purchased a V60 after failing to find a Cross Country for the longest time and was curious if anyone has lifted or converted A V60? I have spent a lot of time looking at part numbers and diagrams of the suspension differences and it appears the real difference in suspension is in the steering knuckle and control arm on the front end. I was expecting different springs and struts, but those all seem to be the same across most Volvo models. I have yet to figure out exactly how the rear suspension is lifted however. If anyone has any insight or caveats please enlighten me! It also looks like the wheel fender cladding requires holes to be drilled so I will probably skip that part. Is the V60CC really just the same suspension(spring and strut) as the V60 just lifted?? based on that one would assume the ride is just as firm on the CC just a bit more tippy due to the height, does it really not have any more flex or plushness? I also have a feeling my V60 Premier+ AWD(2.5T) has the sport suspension as it has the "R" Design rally bar and it out handles and is way stiffer of a ride than my previous S80 V8 was, is there any way of determining what exact options my vehicle had from the factory? In any case I really enjoy my V60 but really could use the extra ground clearance on rough roads and snow around here, as well as a bit more pliable suspension.

      Thanks.

Congrats on the purchase! If your V60 has the R-Design Upper Strut Brace then you have the "Lowered Sports Chassis" which came with 19" wheels, so yes you have the RD suspension set up. You should talk with Chris from Swedespeed as he is converting his son's S60CC to a regular suspension setup; he'll have insight as to what parts you may need to lift it.

And who knows, perhaps he might have some of those parts for sale!

The S60CC suspension conversion started today. I am debating if I want to do something similar with the V60 or do the Cross Country Performance lift.

If you are thinking about doing the suspension swap, below is a picture of the parts you will need. (sans the new brake parts). The donor car had 50k miles on it, so I picked up fresh set of Koni reds from ViVA Performance.

Cross Country axles are longer than the lower chassis vehicles.

Yes, the fenders have small holes for clips. You could trim the flares to sit flush and use double-sided tape to secure them to normal fenders.

I've spent enough damn money on my V60 lately, please delete this thread. I don't need any more ideas! :P

Wow you got me pretty excited with all those parts Chris! I was hoping it didn't involve new axles as well, sounds like perhaps the Heico Cross Suspension kit for $1500 USD might actually be the more economical option here! Thanks for the detailed photos

As an aside, what is the biggest diameter tire that can be accommodated on my V60? I currently am running 245/45/18 which are already a fair bit beefier than stock; do you know if a 235/50/18 would potentially fit? I really just looking for a little more ground clearance and comfort at this point

      Thanks!

Check out Erievovo.com - they have axles at reasonable prices. They may also have the necessary suspension components from a donor car.

Eric is running stock axles with his V60 Polestar CC project. He is running the Heico kit with the Cross Country Performance lift. His setup is 1/2-inch higher than my stock V60CC. I suspect if he changes to the CC control arms, he will get more height.

In this picture, a V60CC is on the lift with the steel control arm and Justin is holding the lower chassis aluminum control arm.

I picked up lower chassis axles just in case. The stock CC axles may be fine but I didn't want to get to that part of the swap and have an issue.

235/50/18 is the stock CC size, it should fit fine on an OEM wheel with the correct offset. If you want to compare tire sizes, this is one of the best tire comparison calculators I've found: https://tiresize.com/comparison/
