      Whats your crazy build idea?

      Hello all,

Quarantine seems like it has been going on forever, at least it seems that way for me. I just creeped over 132,000 miles on my B6324S5, still running strong. To date, I have basically nothing to do besides wait for the summer and my summer job. My high school (secondary school for all you euros ) is basically done because of AP's being over, and I got the idea while surfing the internet bored in quarantine...

What is your dream build for your XC70 and beyond? What would you swap into your chassis? How would you build it? Purpose?

I can't wait to hear your ideas! I have seen crazy T5, T6, RedBlock, WhiteBlock swaps and builds!

      Still bored in Quarantine,

Would like to change 4 corners with tough new dampers and get the 3cm lift kit from Vparts installed.

I’d love to do a Volvo V8 swap in either the P2 or P3 chassis, talked about it on the not affiliated funds thread in classifieds. I could copy/paste the posts here

making mine into an adventure wagon, currently, i am looking at the haldex controller, (i doubt it would work, but who knows) check out my post for more so i dont derail you guys here. (tldr, its just some paint stuff, some option wantings, software hacking, and doing the same thing as the iPd orange, minus cutting my fenders up)

      Cheers!

A body on the car? too bulky
the 3.2 or t6? too slow
taking a little bit of inspiration from Cleetus Mcfarland's Leroy or Hoonigan's Sh*rtKart
Exo-cage/death kart a xc70. keep the P3 shape, but make it a roll cage all around. Swap in a Big turbo 2JZ or a single turbo LS, yeet the AWD (Haldex is annoying) and go straight RWD, 6 speed, Drag or drift build.

      or

Veep. (volvo jeep), Vadiator (volvo gladiator), or V-Wagon (play on Gwagon)
big lift, huge tires, removable doors, crazy wide fender flares
new AWD system, controllable to 2wd or 4H/4L.
truck bed cut from the back seat to the rear.

      Best,
      Rose

Well, I don't really want or need to go that route, if I were to shove a v8 in to anything, it would be a p2 xc70 with a p2 xc90 v8 drivetrain. But that's about it with me. Here's my thread for my project:

Yeah, either a P3 V70 V8 AWD, or something totally different:

1980 245/265 DM “XC”...what I have read the 240 rear end was the same as the Cherokee front end, so, hypothetically, if one threw enough money at the problem a very clean “factory parts bin” product could be achieved...matte blue over tan hiking boot leather and blue & yellow plaid.

lifting that thing, turning it into an apocalypse vehicle, with winch, roof rack, spare tire on the back, and mud / all terrain tires.

problem is: it's my daily, so it should stay somewhat practical

I want on overlanding rig, something that can get me to remote places away from people lol.

It will never be a Toyota or Range Rover, but I want it to be mine.

And I know I'm joining the xc70 group, but there is basically no XC60's out there that I can find.

      Lights.
      Lift.
All the lower plastic cladding coated in rhino line/line-x etc
Since the XC60 does not come with wheel arch cladding, adding that and widening the stance with meatier rubber.
      Better underside protection.

I don't necessarily want rock sliders, but after buying a Tacoma I realize sometimes you need some jack points to help with recovery options.

Kinda an extremely capable off road rig that can also shine up and hit the city

Obviously those aren't practical nor realistic, but I will be turning mine into a better contender hopefully
I've started gathering parts, a lot more to order, if things happen as hoped it'll be pretty rad.
And trying to do it on a budget makes for a challenge.

I expect to keep my stock wheels, will need to buy new rubber in the future (maybe wait until next spring?) and that will be the moment when the changes start to materialize.

Trying to be patient and known it's going to take time and not be instantaneous
