      Kw3 coilover suspension setup

I need help tunning my kw3 suspension. I keep getting slight wapples in my steering wheel although I have brand new tires. A shop told me that Lower spring might be too compressed and that could lead to steering wheel shake or wapple. How true is this ?

Holy crap. Yeah, that bottom spring is not a spring anymore. It's currently infinitely stiff, likely causing a bunch of unwanted harmonics.

Why do you have the collar cranked up so far? What does your ride height look like?

Whether or not that's your issue, I cannot say.

When do you have these wobbles? My steering wheel also does this when I'm in process of moving my steering wheel off center in a higher speed corner. I believe this has more to do with shock tower / strut bearings, though.

First and foremost, fix that coilover setup, then go from there.

Actually after thinking about it, your ride height is independently controlled.

Your ride quality must be just awful.

So the vibration was happening around 60-65 mph. I took it to performance shop and they did road force balance and made it way worse. They told me I needed new tires and that my Michelinís although had thread they were bad. So I went to firestone to get new Bridgestone tires. I requested they do road force balance and also do alignment after installation. The wobble is very little but I just want it gone. After spend whooping 900. Attached pictures should show you the ride height

      Definitely not shock related.

Do your wheels use a hub centric ring?

Well, I would try moving the wheel locations and see if you notice any difference. Even one from to the rear.

      Next, adjust those shocks.

I'm not familiar with the KW coilover setup but I assume the reason you have those cranked down so far is to gain ride height, yes? If you want to maintain your ride height but also properly use the springs I would think KW has a spring perch spacer to achieve that. All I can say is, they shouldn't be compressed like that and could definitely cause some odd behavior.

Yes I want to maintain this ride height. I donít know if by turning or loosing that lower spring will change the ride. also I am taking it back to firestone Tuesday.

I mean, that's what it's intended to do BUT you have it cranked down so far I think you could afford to loose some turns without any impact to ride height. I would suggest it.

Okay will try and see if I can do it myself or find a performance shop to do it.

I have a similar wobble at that speed that I can feel in the steering wheel only turning my wheel through a curve or changing lanes like mentioned above. It is very minor and goes away when I swap the front wheels to the back, so I assume itís a slightly bent rim. Maybe you should try swapping your wheels front to back and see if that helps.

Okay will trying bring both rear tires to the front first. Before I start messing with the suspension or I will take it back to firestone and request the check it again. Maybe they did not road force balance it well.
