S60 polestar (2017) Wheel down sizing from 20"to 18 question.

      Hi,
if anyone is familiar with downsizing their wheels please do advice.
      I have 20" x 8J wheels size with offset of ET55, PCD 5x108.
      With the tires being - 245/35ZR20 (95Y).

I plan to get and extra set of wheels, smaller with higher wall tires, keeping in mind some terrible roads i have to travel on sometimes.

Am able to get either TSW or JR easily here. Although on the expensive side.

Keeping the front brake size in mind, most 18" ET is either 40 or 43.

I have no way of checking to see the wheels as they will be imported.

Has anyone had any experience replacing:- 20x8 5x108 ET: 55
      with:

      18x8.5 5x108 ET: 42
      or
      18x8.5 5x108 ET: 40
      or
      18x8 5x108 ET: 40

      Thanks,

      Baba

S60 polestar (2017) Wheel down sizing from 20"to 18 question.

18” do not fit over the calipers. Must use 19” or bigger, check out the winter wheel tread in the polestar section

Not all 19s will fit over the large Polestar calipers. If you want/need to downsize to an 18-inch wheel, you would need to change the front brake calipers to an R-Design setup. I know of one Polestar owner that has downsized to a 316mm brake setup to enable the use of 17-inch wheels and all-terrain tires.

      thanks for your replys.
Trying to find the winter wheel section.

Someone i know has sent me photos of fitting 18" without caliper change. He has fitted the Konig ampliforms 18s,
      18 x 8.5 , 5 x108, with and +43 offset.
