Motor haldex 3 pump vs haldex 4

I would like to know if it is the same motor but different housing from haldex 3 that I have then Haldex 4 ???

Very difficult to remove haldex 3 pump but if I could get my hands on a haldex 4 pump change brush and kit would I be able to switch it with my haldex 3 casing and filter and so on ???

Even from Rock auto $300 cad.

Wondering also for something this old if it's even worth it to try to strugle with this or just order new one.

      thanks for all input

Well just remembered that their not the same size, not sure on that have to verify on youtube, just remembered a guy ordering a haldex 3 pump and got the haldex 4 with the short plastic basket in front and the haledx 4 was a lot smaller ... but have to search to confirm.

I used the Volvo today to get some freight to the back door. With all the rain I'm sure the VW or truck would have chewed up the lawn with their 2 WD. Yeah I went through that pump change a year or two back. I got the driveshaft loose by striking the flange at a 45 with a sharp chisel. I didn't know you could use different pumps in the same application. In any case the original pump has to come out and that means removing the driveshaft.

Yes have seen many videos about this lengthy and painfull procedure. Still have to confirm but if I remember correctly the gen 4 is smaller so not compatible. Have seen many guys clean, change the brushes test and re use the old pump.
Will let you know if there is a difference.
