      Indy Repair in SF Bay Area

      Any recommendations for an Indy shop in the SF bay area, especially the east bay?

      I have a extended CPO warranty (10 yrs), is the warranty voided if service is done in an Indy shop vs the dealer?

      It isn't voided per se, but future claims could be denied if volvo doesn't show they did the maintenance. All depends on how ****ty the local dealer and regional rep is.

      I got to fast lane European in South Bay, I like them and they're good about dealing with my 3rd party warranty. But given that you have a CPO warranty, I would stick with dealer just simply because of Inteller's comment that it will minimize the risk of any disputes with Volvo Corp/dealer should something go wrong.

      Indy shops in Seattle area usually don't subscribe to VIDA, thus they can't upgrade the software on my car. And also my Volvo dealer is not expensive at all, so I am sticking to my local dealer.

      Thanks, that's an important point. There is another thread about how expensive the scheduled service is. Is there not much of a difference in cost between an indy shop and dealer in terms of the regular service?

      My indy shop has the service manual so they can do all the mechanical work so as long as they replace what needs replacing, it's the same thing. Its just that if there's a SW update involved somewhere, my shop will tell me they can't do it and refer me back to the dealer.
