The black S70 blew a head gasket last week. Then my son tells me this am that the S60 clutch pedal is stuck at the floor with no back pressure. I notice a lot of fluid underneath the car. Appears the slave cylinder failed, no noticeable leaks by the master. Im pretty sure its the original clutch with 198K miles. Now the debate of to fix or dump. The engine still runs strong, its a 01 T5M which are somewhat rare but its not a late model T5M. The car is a 10 footer and not mint by any means. Sucks that the slave is internal so the whole tranny needs to be pulled and dropping the sub frame. My gut says don't shell out 500 for parts and all the time it would take me (ive never done a clutch job before) on a car with such high mileage that's not in mint condition. He's starting at the University of Utah next month and will need reliable transportation. Currently there are no decent Volvos for sale locally, at least any that are manual. What would you guys do ?
