      Engine identification B5244T5 or B5244T?

I was hoping someone could shed some light on this.

I picked up an engine a few months back and have been working on it to drop in my car. It was sold to me as being a T5 motor out of an S60.

The stamp on the block has it as a B5244T, from what I've been able to find this is usually the engine found in the early X70 cars

I was always under the impression that a there was a number at the end.

The engine I have has dual VVT on the intake and exhaust cams.

Is this a true T5 engine?

What did the engine come with? What fuel injectors are on there? What spark plugs are on there? Any pictures would help. The B5244T and B5244T5 are 2 very different engines.

Are you planning to put this engine in your 1998 - the car in your profile?

      I was told the engine came out of a 07 S60 T5

There were no fuel injectors or spark plugs in the engine when I picked it up.

What were you going to do with the VVT? Attempt to reuse the head from the 1998?

No VIN, just he engine. Would there be a VIN plate anywhere on the engine?

No, no VIN on the engine.

Was there a front timing belt cover? If so, did it still have the engine # or Serial #?

B5244T5 is dual vvt (R head) while all other B5244T(X) variants are single exhaust vvt.

      Should have a 05+ manifold.

Should be setup for ETA not ETM.

Should have the later thermostat and block casting like a RNC.

I also see a K24 oil feed line peaking out in the pic. It’s a B5244T5.
