      Small bubble in leather dash

I have a 2018 S90 T8 Inscription with a leather dash. Always garaged and have a sunshade for protection. About six months ago I developed a small bubble in the dash.

The dealer says they have to replace the whole thing under warranty. Iím a little hesitant about doing that as things are never the same after that. I have no rattles.

Does anyone know if there are companies that can repair the dash without removing it?

Iím sort of surprised they canít inject some adhesive through a small needle...I guess that might be a bit janky, but hey...maybe worth a shot if youíre going to replace it anyway.

That`s why the dealer wont do it. I would try it, but if you ef it up bad enough the dealer might balk at replacing

There were quite a number of reports on the leather detaching from the dashboard and it seemed Volvo was indeed replacing the entire dashboard as a fix...
I canít remember if it was linked to specific MYís but there should be similar cases in the archive.

You may want to go to a company specialized in repairing leather car seats. There are a number of them out there. Ask their opinion but you may have a chance they can repair it without any damage visible. Maybe if you talk to your dealer they will cover the costs as it will be much lower than the costs involved replacing the full dash.

Same here when it bubbled on my 2018 V90 CC, just under the lower left corner of the windshield - the small triangular patch. There were no rattles or other problems after it was replaced under warranty.

I would get it replaced under warranty. The entire dash is one piece and the leather one is north of $2k for the part.

Mine was replaced under warranty and without any rattles.

But I am unhappy with the replacement.

The leather is inferior to the original. Not as fine.

The grain and colour no longer matches the leather wrapped around the doors.

The SRS embossed on the original leather is now printed and looks cheap.

I don't think it's real leather, but when mine was replaced it looked just like what originally came with the the car (2018 V90 CC).

I got my dash replaced as well after mine developed 3 bubbles. Replacement took a few days and absolutely no rattles since the replacement. Definitely get it done!
