      Mysterious coolant leak opinions

Need some opinions, im losing coolant semi rapidly and before someone says cracked sleeve, the coolant ISNT disappearing. Its leaking under the car, i got under there today and the only place I see any visible coolant is between the transmission and the angle gear.
Any ideas where this could be coming from? Thermostat housing?

I know its coolant because I use a red coolant and its red and my transmission fluid is not red.

Need some opinions on where this could potentially be from since I was not aware on any coolant running near the collar sleeve etc.

If you already checked the main the coolant lines from the radiator to the block, it could be the two heater hoses that go through the firewall (in the area behind/over the trans) or it could be a turbo coolant line. The turbo is basically sitting on top of the angle gear.

I would suggest not the thermostat housing. Here is a thread with my experience of that: How-To-Replace-Thermostat-On-The-R-With-Some-Pics

The line itself or the gasket,?
The odd thing is it seems to only happen after the car has been sitting for a bit.

Not sure. Probably the gasket. Really just guessing without seeing the rough location of the leak. If its leaking at the turbo you may see residue from the coolant burning off.

Have you jacked the car up and looked at the area from underneath? If you can't trace the leak, the next step would be to add dye to the system and use a uv flashlight to find the leak.

I'll take a look but when I was under there the drop built up was on the angle gear right where it connects to the trans. So it would probably be leaking from above.

I had a coolant leak last winter (had to top if off every couple of days.) It was leaking down through front passenger side - turns out the bottom of my coolant reservoir was cracked.
