V90 across Country doesnít come with cargo cover

I just purchased a 2020 V90 Cross Country and learned that it does not come with a cargo cover. Itís apparently an accessory, but I cannot find it on Volvoís site. Only things like the bars and dog cage.

Anyone know how much these go for? I presume a crap ton as buying used cargo covers for P2 cars was already pricey.

LOVE the car though. Feels like a completely different universe than my old V70R, which I just sold today too.

Ok say so going off what I said in the other thread. Both my V90CCs, 2018 and 2020 have come with a luggage cover.

My 2018 did not have the luxury package, it did have a luggage cover but it wasn't on the window sticker.
My 2020 did have the luxury package, it did have a luggage cover but it was listed on the window sticker insofar as it is electrically operated (luxury package addition, closes automatically with tailgate)

I checked the Volvo Accessories catalog and this part is NOT LISTED. This implies that it is standard equipment.

Page 31 of the US and CA Volvo V90 and V90 Cross Country brochure clearly states the Cross Country trim comes with the load cover

Your dealer is full of ****. Tell them you want your load cover and if they don't hand it over you will call Volvo Corporate.

I know it's not listed as an accessory because I snapped a photo of mine and it has the part number. It's a replacement part, not an accessory.

My MY18 V90CC came with the cargo cover too, although I rarely use it as it limits the height of the cargo area.

I'm with you. I should probably just remove it since it is not hooked in place in the track.

Yeah, I took it out to pack up for a trip and haven't bothered to put it back in. The rear windows are tinted enough that I'm not really worried about preventing someone from seeing that I've got something in the trunk, and I don't know why else I'd want it.

I've always seen the cargo cover as a catch 22. If you've got someone looking for stuff to steal then if your cargo cover is closed it implies I have something to hide, if it's open you have nothing to hide whereas if you have a trunk it's always closed..

I usually have boxes and other stuff in the cargo area which are taller than the cover height. Being the OCD that I am, and wanting to put the cover back in, as it looks and fits perfect, I convince myself of the benefits I receive by technically making my car lighter and reducing it's center of gravity. Lol.

You have a very good point. My concern is that it looks odd without it with the huge openings on sides. And while I agree it almost suggests there is something to hide when itís closed, it isnít clear whatís there. So it may deter a thief who doesnít want to risk crime without knowing the goods. Whereas if they see a laptop bag, itís a smash and grab scenario 90% of the time. (Lots of break ins where I live when people leave backpacks and purses in car)

Thanks again for helping me score this part. You are doing the Volvo Godís work.

Are you sure they didn't mean that the motorized cargo cover is a factory option? (is that even an option ont he V90cc? I know it is for the regular V90.)

It is on the CC, comes with the luxury packages.

The standard load cover is standard..

The load cover isn't motorized per se. The luxury package includes a track on the hatch that you hook the extended standard cover into. It then is raised and lowered along with the hatch.

What you are describing seems to be the motorized load cover. I have that option on my wagon. The power load cover now appears to be standard starting with the MY2021 V90s.

The salesman was confused. I honestly think he was just trying to blow me off as I had already taken delivery of car. Either way, after sharing this brochure with him he has shipped me one. Tracking shows delivery will be today.

He claimed the load cover is optional on XC90 and he was confused. Again I think itís just an excuse but he made right on it so Iím not too annoyed.

My cargo mat came in mail yesterday (was missing at time of delivery so they noted it as an item to ship to customer). So after the load cover shows up today Iíll be all set.

Next will be cargo net, Part# 31408760. It looks like online is way cheaper than dealers, so Iíll likely order from Tasca.

Iíll also be getting Polestar Engineered tune from dealer in the next month or so. Just wanted to break in the engine and get a feel for stock power before upgrade, that way I can judge difference.
