      Looking at a 1993 V70. GLT turbo

Anything to be worried about? And or what should I be looking for, aka failure points.

Car has 230k miles, and the timing belt has been done.
Trans works well in sport mode
In Eco mode it seems a little slippy off the take off, once, but after that was ok.

Oh! The door locks are wonky. Sometime work, other times not. Crazy question, can I "oil"them or lube them up? Seem a little sticky to me.

      Thanks!

      Al

While the car is running, take off the oil filler cap and put a latex glove over the neck. If the glove sucks in all is good with the PCV system. If it inflates, then it needs to be replaced. The locks on these cars do get wonky later in life. There is a thermal coupler inside the lock motor which will disable the motor especially in hot weather conditions. You can youtube on how to bypass it, but there is some labor involved. I would be somewhat worried about the tranny, but if your getting the car for a steal, and you have the mechanical aptitude to replace it down the road, go for it. All these cars have quirks at their age. The search engine is your friend here, almost anything you will encounter has been covered here at some point.

Thank you for the glove info.....yes I think I like it, so let's see how it turns out next week. I will try to do the glove thing before the weekend.
