Serpentine belt replacement for a S60I/B5244S2

      I have a question regarding the serpentine belt change for a 2008 Volvo S60 I (384) - 2.4 (384), B5244S2

There seems to be two belts lengths for the S60s between 2000-2010, i.e. 6DPK1845 and 6DPK1825. How can I visually check which belt is suitable for my engine?

This would be up to chassis #545224 up to mid 2006 https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vol...pk1841#fitment
This one - perhaps for your car - from #545225 mid 2006up https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vol...0p#description

Yes, I have read about the chassis ranges. The long belt should cover the chassis range up to and including 545224 and the shorter belt for after 545225. However, I was wondering if there were any visual signs on the engines - such as different size tensioner pulleys - indicating the serpentine belt size.

Could it be you have the power steering pump with the smaller pulley ? How much is the pump ratted at the sticker ? 120 or 110 bar ? 120 would have the smaller pulley for the shorter belt. My 2003 has the larger pulley and I did install the pump with the smaller pulley and kept my longer belt - no issues and I could actually remove/install the belt much easier

My 2008 Volvo S60 chassis number (>700XXX) indicates that the short belt would be appropiate. However, the ZF power steering pump is the 110 bar type with a pulley measuring 13cm in diameter, which I guess is the large type. So, going by the power steering pulley it would seem that the long belt was fitted. How large is the 120 bar power steering pulley? What brand do you recommend when it comes to serpentine belts?

Maybe a previous owner replaced the pump with the large pulley one. Hard to say from memory, maybe the smaller pulley would have been close to 11.5 cm, about half an inch smaller dia
