PSA - Re-calibration after body work

I noticed that BLIS was late in activating. I came to a self-realization that my rear sensors for safety features probably needed to be re-calibrated after some body work a few weeks prior.

I had the lower rear valance professionally replaced (due to a “dufus” mistake on my part when hooking up my utility trailer).

I could recall that BLIS seemed late in activating. BLIS would only activate when an overtaking car’s front bumper in the next lane over came up adjacent to my rear bumper.

My light bulb came on that I should see if a re-calibration was needed for my safety systems, park assist, et al. The answer was yes and now it all works as expected.

Yes. I am not DIYer and I was at the dealer for another issue. The cost was $85 locally as it was not a warranty or defect per se.

Thanks for the answer. As you know these cars are sensor sensitive and always seeming needing to be recalibrated. I had a few tricks to self calibrate my XC90 (you can get a lot accomplished by resetting TPMS, driving fast in Four Wheel Drive etc) but now I am rolling a 2020 S60 and the tricks I had don't seem to work as well!
