      What gas do you use?

I just moved to a new area where pickups and AWD are all that is driven. We have a Sunoco in town that is also a fuel distributor for the area. 93 octane is $2.69.9 all day, everyday. I was filling up today and the guy says...”Have you tried the 91 octane -ethanol free? It’s the same price as 93. My customers are getting 4mpg per gal more on this. You shouldn’t see any performance issues”. Well I will be filling up with 91 next time. Life is good. I’ll keep you posted.

I have used both. My uncalibrated butt dyno says Sunoco 93 is better. Have used it almost exclusively for 160kmi on a mild tune and still going strong.

In Idaho we are pigeon holed into 91 with ethanol, you can find a station every now and then that is corn free.... But they are few and far in between, so I just stick with the ethanol to keep things consistent.

91 no ethanol ever since moving to yeehaw cowboy flatland. My fuel economy is terrible but that's more a product of my short commute...

Sunoco is good fuel so is Shell. I personally like a bit of ethanol better for boost anyway. I run 93 with a half can of Boostane per tank. Gets me in the neighborhood of 98. 27psi. K16.
I’m also running progressive water/meth 720cc/min. Dual nozzle set-up. With AEM flow rate failsafe gauge. The straight ethanol free is good for people whom let the cars sit for extended periods of time or whom are super concerned with mileage as ethanol is hygroscopic and contains less energy.

I’ve used the boostane in every fill up since having it rebuild. Great product. Stays suspended in the tank and even before the water/meth the car would pull timing on warmer days without it.

91 w/ethanol but I've bumped the occasional 93 ethanol free on road trips and where I can get it. Generally I can get a few MPGs more but then back at home 91 ethanol is about the best I can find. My R feels like it runs considerably more smooth with ethanol free. Feels like a bit more boost too but it's all just a feeling-nothing measured and could be my imagination too. FWIW.
