      Replacement axle for 05 T5M

Hey all! I hope this is a worthy first post.

The carrier bearing on the passenger-side axle of my girlfriend's 05 T6M FWD (M66) is on its way out. The part number is 8252049. Before having her drop the $700 on a rebuilt unit, I figured I'd reach out here to ask if anyone has experience servicing this bearing without replacing the whole axle. Also, I found a potential option off RockAuto from APWI but it seems to good to be true @ $60 for the entire axle.

      Thank you guys!

If it is just the carrier bearing just buy a new one and replace it. I did this on my T5 and have had no issues.

Oh, I don’t trust any of the rockauto axle shafts for Volvo. Glück.

SB, not the passenger side (where the carrier bearing is). The drivers side is the same T5M or R manual.

Auto axles are different from manual axles. Fwd M56 and Fwd M66 axles are the same left side and right side.

I appreciate all of the responses!

J5T: The link through Amazon you sent links to your account sign-in. I was having a hard time finding the bearing for the correct era car. (I've found them listed for newer cars but not P2.) I am not fond fo RockAuto for crucial components either but it was just an option that I saw at a significantly lower price than reman.

Scottish Brick: This is the axle that you mentioned that I believe would fit, but S60's are not listed as a proper fit. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vol...YaAohnEALw_wcB

      Thank you for your time.

Thank you all for the information!

J5T: I was having trouble accessing the amazon link you sent. Do you have the part number of the bearing? I am also not a fan of RockAuto for crucial parts but it was just an option.

SB: I've seen some GKN axles listed in the $350 range, but none were said to fit this model. ex.) https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vol...Lw_wcB#fitment

Thank you everyone for your time!

Yea you’d need to find a distributor of the manual axles. It was sort of an accident that we found them. Call Rolling Motors in CT that’s who figured the look up out and have at least a pair in stock.
