      VIDA air suspension adjustment

So, I have a local independent Volvo shop that has the full VIDA system. I asked about having him do the adjustment to the air suspension to change the settings and lower it a little. He is willing to do it but does not know how.

Are there any instructions posted online for how to do this with VIDA?

I only know the GhostLink parts can do this, $225.

Looks like the height sensor reading is used by software to control the air bag. Not sure if adjustment is possible.

No way in VIDA. You can adjust the sensor arm length (Ghostlinks) or install the Heico leveling module ($$$).

Can VIDA soften the air suspension in different drive modes?

There isn't a direct way in VIDA but if someone got creative, I believe there is a way. I'll have to mess with one if I get a chance.

No, not that I'm aware of.

Softer riding means higher riding also, because the car body need enough space from wheel when bouncing up and down.
If you want softer riding than dynamic mode, you can use comfort mode. If you want even softer than comfort mode, off-road can be helpful at low speed.

Like Fusion mentioned, you could raise the ride height in all drive modes, say 1", to soften the ride using Ghostlinks.

I thought VIDA had an option to make adjustments (not large ones) to air suspension cars to address leveling or height problems to bring them within spec... like a calibration option?

I don't know how they do it but my dealership was able to adjust my air suspension in VIDA. When I received my car (it was used and serviced in NJ) it was extremely low and it was a calibration issue in system. the dealership was able to raise the car over a full inch. I will warn too low and it becomes almost unbearable. I found the when in hybrid to be okay but in dynamic when it was lower it was like having no suspension at all. now it is much better.

Yes, there is a calibration. And using that, it should be possible to alter the ride height.

Found some online references to SUM Calibration... I think this is it. Tech, any chance you can take a look at that to see if there are height adjustments available?

I wish there was a way to calibrate the air to make it less jiggly in all modes.

The dampening can't be adjusted unfortunately. Need an electro-magnetic dampening setup. Maybe they will use it in really luxury XC100.

The OEM shocks are valved and support a firm/soft setting. POWER mode is firm and everything else is soft.
