      jdog...

      These are quotes...not personal opinions.....
IMO....there was a better way to remove Saddam from power than to sacrafice 2500+ American miltary lives...just to bring down a tyrant dictator and start a civil war 1/2 way around the world And we call ourselves civilized ? Hah... Besides...this has all been beat to death (pun intended!) on this forum before....our old friend Whitay made sure we talked about it everyday he was here! Actually...in some sort of warped small way...I miss the guy

      Here's another lie.

      "Mr President...it's a no-brainer"
some Pentagon geek...ironically..he was 1/2 right! We only used 1/2 our brains going into Iraq...and have yet to use ANY trying to get out!
And you can quote me on that

      Re: Today's Inspirational Quote (Steely)

Here are some anonymous quotes for your reading pleasure:

Dear God.... I have a problem. It's me!

Silence is often misinterpreted...but never misquoted.

Growing old is inevitable...growing up is optional.

There is no key to happiness...the door is always open.

God wants spiritual fruit...not religious nuts.

It's okay to sit on your pity pot every now and then...just remember to flush when you are done.

      And my 2 favorites!

Surviving and living a sucessful life requires courage and risk-taking. Be like the turtle...he only makes real progress when he sticks his neck out.

Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is what you REALLY are....your reputation is just what people THINK you are.

Since we're talking about inspirational quotes, here's one:

People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered. Love them anyway. If you do good, people may accuse you of selfish motives. Do good anyway. If you are successful, you may win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable. Be honest and transparent anyway. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. People who really want help may attack you if you help them. Help them anyway. Give the world the best you have and you may get hurt. Give the world your best anyway.

My favorite version of the above quote, variously attributed to Abraham Lincoln or Mark (Samuel Clemens) Twain is:

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

I think it has a certain Twainesque ring to it.
