I know there has been 1000s of posts probably about this but im super confused because Ive seen different answers to this question
I have a 2004 Volvo S60 2.4 Automatic transmission VIN 61 and the idle is surging up and down so Im looking at the throttle body. Ive cleaned it, The MAF sensor as well. It seems to do it only once its warmed up and drives fine at normal driving speed ( 40-60 MPH)
The big question is does a replacement throttle body need programming by the dealer? I have heard yes and no. I looked at mine on the vehicle and am not able to obtain any part numbers for what I have now. I look on auto parts websites and type in the vehicle info and I get different part numbers of various prices and a multitude of brands. I know oem is the way to go. I also know that this is a 2004 and Im only going to spend so much.
Can somebody please steer me in the right direction? Could there be something else to try like 02 sensors? I have no CEL at this time too if that helps.
I contacted Xemodex in Canada too and they dont support that make and model at this time.
